"One of our great allies at present is the Church itself. Do not misunderstand me. I do not mean the Church as we see her spread out through all time and space and rooted in eternity, terrible as an army with banners. That, I confess is a spectacle which makes our boldest tempters uneasy. But fortunately it is quite invisible to these humans.”
Screwtape, a senior devil, instructing a junior devil on how to tempt and trap humans. C. S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
“I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity."
C. S. Lewis
Every Sunday night we meet as a smaller group for fellowship, food and applicational discussion. We usually discuss the morning sermon and how our understanding of the text has been altered or supported, but most importantly we share how we might put into practice the exhortations given. It is here that we cry together and rejoice with one another as we hear the stories and testimonies from our friends. It is here that we encourage each other to stand strong and to be bold. Sunday evening small group is what "church" is all about.
We hope, in time, to grow into a large group and to be forced to spread into several small groups meeting in people's homes. Will you come join us for what will surely be a life changing time in your week?
